Iranian writer and poet who was an active member of the Iranian Writers Association, a group that was banned in Iran due to their objection to censorship and encouragement of freedom of expression. It is believed that he was murdered due to his activism. He left his house on the 3rd December 1998 to go shopping but never returned; his body was found the next day, the cause of death was suffocation.
