French poet and victim of the French Revolution. He was guillotined for alleged "crimes against the state", just three days before the end of the Reign of Terror.  After his execution by  guillotine at  Place de la Nation his decapitated body was taken to the Cimetière de Picpus where it was thrown into a mass grave along with 1306 other executed men and women.
