Austrian novelist who sympathised with the ideas of the National Socialists and in her novels of the thirties she openly expounded national socialist ideas. Following Second World War her novel Die Kindlmutter / The Child-Mother (1938) was placed on a list of banned National Socialist books. In 1947, at the request of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) , Grengg received a pardon from the Austrian Federal President Karl Renner.  After the war she concentrated on the writing and illustration of books for children.
