English journalist, author and broadcaster. During his journalistic career Levin wrote for various publications including The Spectator, The Daily Express, The Daily Mail and The Times
During the 1980’s he wrote three travel books based on television series he had made for Channel 4; these were Hannibal's Footsteps (1985), To the End of the Rhine(1987) and A Walk Up Fifth Avenue (1989). 
In the early 1990's, Levin developed Alzheimer's disease, which eventually forced him to give up his regular column in The Times in 1997, and to stop writing altogether not long afterwards.
